How to set up a blog...

As an additional means of using technology to document your process and reflect on what you learn along the way, I’d like you all to create your own blog.

Firstly, it will be good to create a collaborative environment where we can all communicate in a different way, but more importantly, it’s a safer way of maintaining all of the documentation and planning you complete along the way as you work towards completing your Media work.

It will be your own responsibility to scan and upload to your blog all of your sketches and planning documents you need to complete, and reflect on what choices you’re making and what you’re learning, or changing along the way.

To set up your blog, you’ll be using the website http://www.blogger.com

Before you can sign-up to blogger though, you need to have a Gmail account.

If you don’t have one yet, just go to Google and click on the “Gmail” link up the top.  Once it takes you to the next screen, click on the “Create an Account” button.  Fill out the appropriate fields on the next page and then click on the “I accept.  Create my account” button at the bottom.

Once you’ve done this, you’re ready to head over to the blogger website.

Follow the steps here to create your own blog site.  You can customize it however you want, upload photos, etc.  Once you’ve got your blogging site set up, go to my blog site address.  On the right is a link you can click on to be a “follower” of my blog.  This means that whenever you go to your blog site, it will show any updates that I may have added to my blog site.  Additionally, add a comment to this post and include your full name and the web address of your own blog you've created.

You’re now set-up and ready to start adding material to your blog.  Make sure, before you’ve logged off today, that you’ve become a “follower” of my blog (you can call yourself my disciple, rather than a follower if you choose.  I don’t mind.)
